About $4 for 4-H: Georgia 4-H launched the first $4 for 4-H giving day on April 4, 2018 – the fourth day of the fourth month of the year. The event was championed by Georgia 4-H Foundation board members Julie Lucas and Brandie Park, and the first year saw $13,000 raised in 24 hours. As a result, State 4-H Leader and Director of 4-H, Arch Smith, was “slimed” at State Council. This sliming event has carried on as a tradition that 4-H’ers have come to know and love.
In 2019 as $4 for 4-H gained traction, donors were given the opportunity to designate part of their gift to support their preferred county. Each county received 50% of each gift designated to their program online. This was continued in 2021, with over $31,000 raised and all 159 counties receiving support. This year we are celebrating the fourth $4 for 4-H Giving Day, and we appreciate your continued support of Georgia 4-H!
