$4 for 4-H Giving Day
In 2018, Georgia 4-H launched the first $4 for 4-H giving day taking place on April 4, 2018. The event was an inspiration of Georgia 4-H Board of Trustees members, Julie Lucas and Brandie Park. That first year resulted in raising a total of $13,000 in 24 hours. As a result, State 4-H Leader and Director of 4-H, Arch Smith, was “slimed” at State Council. A tradition that has carried on into the event’s subsequent years.
During the second annual $4 for 4-H, in 2019, an exciting addition was made to the day. Donors were given the opportunity to designate part of their gift to support the county of their choosing. Each county received 50% of each gift designated to their program online. This was continued in 2021 with over $31,000 raised and all 159 counties receiving support. Thank you to those that supported this important effort!
