IN-KIND GIFTS

In-Kind gifts to support the Georgia 4-H program are an important way of giving which can significantly impact the program.  The donation of tangible items or services provides a cost savings for items and services needed to support our various program areas on an annual basis.

The Georgia 4-H Foundation can accept certain valuable gifts of property, equipment, or services for which the Foundation has a use in connection with its mission.  Please contact us if you are interested in making an in-kind donation so that we can explore the options available to you as a donor.

Please note: The Georgia 4-H Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations made to the Georgia 4-H Foundation are tax deductible according to IRS standards. Your contribution can be designated to support a specific purpose that is important to you, or left unrestricted to be used where the need is greatest. If you would like to make a gift to the Georgia 4-H Foundation, or would like to learn more about other giving opportunities, contact Mary Ann Parsons, Executive Director, Georgia 4-H Foundation, at (706) 542-8914 or via e-mail at parsonsm@uga.edu.

Bob and Maxine Burton Donate Backpacks to Summer Campers at Burton 4-H Center

Bob and Maxine Burton began donating backpacks to each camper attending Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island in the Summer of 2006.  Bob and Maxine, as well as their daughter, Rachael, and son-in-law, Eddie, were in attendance on the first day of camp to personally distribute the backpacks to each of the campers. The thoughtfulness of the Burtons made a significant impact on the experience of each of the campers, camp counselors, agents, and volunteers which were a part of summer camp each week.

Each year the Georgia 4-H Horse Benefit Auction is held in conjunction with the UGA Equine Science Department. Donations of horses are solicited throughout the year to be sold at auction, and proceeds are divided between the Georgia 4-H Horse Program and Equine research at the University of Georgia. The Georgia 4-H Horse Program continues to grow and has been able to keep fees low for participants, junior leaders and adult leaders at Horse School. Auction funds also support the state winning Horse Quiz Bowl Team’s trip to the National Competition - to donate a horse, contact Dr. Gary Heusner at gheusner@uga.edu or 706/542-9092.
